Qualified candidates must have training in at least two age populations; however training and experience in multiple age populations is preferred. Candidates must be proficient in English and have excellent communication skills. VCU Health System is currently seeking an experienced professional to provide administrative and financial leadership, oversight and management for Respiratory Care Services.  Responsibilities include strategic planning, legal and regulatory compliance, financial management, relationship development, and operations and human resources management.  This position ensures the Department's compliance with both VCUHS and VCU policies and procedures.
Our ideal candidate will have the following qualifications: 
  • Licensure by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP)
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience (seven (7) preferred) in progressively responsible Respiratory Therapy supervisory/management role
  • Graduation from an accredited Advanced Practitioner Respiratory Care Program
  • Master's degree in Healthcare,  Public Health or Business Administration or closely related field

Respiratory Care Practitioner

We are currently seeking experienced Respiratory Care Practitioners to join our teams at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital in Gloucester, VA and Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Nassawadox (Eastern Shore), VA.

Qualified candidates must be licensed by the state of Virginia as a Respiratory Care Practitioner and have previous respiratory care experience.  Experience with Pulmonary Function Tests or Sleep Studies a plus.  BLS is required and ACLS preferred.  Must be comfortable with breathing treatments, ventilators, BiPAP and Arterial Blood Gases.  Full-time, rotating shifts to include weekends and holidays.
