The Virginia Society for Respiratory Care is currently accepting nominations for the following Board of Directors positions, President-elect, Vice President, District Directors for each region, and Delegate!
Nominees must be a licensed practitioner within the state and in good standing as an active member of the AARC/VSRC. Candidates must be willing to serve the entire term of office and be willing to attend all necessary events and meetings pertaining to their office, including four board meetings (one per quarter) a year. Other desired qualifications specific to the offices are as follows:
President-elect-The President shall be the chief executive officer of the Society.
The President shall preside at the annual business meeting and all meetings
of the Board of Directors, prepare an agenda for the annual business
meeting and submit it to the membership, prepare an agenda for each meeting of the Board
of Directors and submit to the members of the board, appoint standing and special
committees subject to the approval of the Board of Directors, be an ex officio member of all
committees except the Nomination and Election Committee, present to the
Board of Directors and the membership an annual report of the Society; and
perform other duties as shall be assigned by the Board of Directors.
Vice President-The Vice President shall assume the office of the President elect in the event of the President-elect’s death, absence, resignation, or incapacity and shall serve for the unexpired term of his/her predecessor in office and shall accede to the office of President. The Vice President, as Chair of the Program Committee, will oversee the major designated seminars sponsored by the Society and shall perform such other duties as shall be assigned by the Board of Directors.
Delegate-. The Delegates shall represent the Society of the AARC House of Delegates i compliance with the rules and regulations of that body. Delegates shall serve four (4) years. Duties of the Delegates shall be consistent with those identified in the AARC Bylaws
and in the standing rules of the Society
District Directors – Blue Ridge, Central, Northern, Tidewater, Western. They serve for two years, with the second year being the District Director and the elected year as co-District Director. They plan educational meetings and get-togethers for their districts. These meetings and get-togethers can be used for continuing education hours.
