All The Virginia Society for Respiratory Care is currently accepting nominations for the following 2026-2027 Board of Directors positions, President Elect, Secretary, Treasurer and District Directors for each region.

Nominees must be a licensed practitioner within the state and in good standing as an active member of the AARC/VSRC. Candidates must be willing to serve the entire term of office and be willing to attend all necessary events and meetings pertaining to their office, including four board meetings (one per quarter) a year. Other desired qualifications specific to the offices are as follows:

Secretary – The Secretary shall have charge of keeping the minutes of the Board of Directors and the annual business meetings and of submitting a copy of these minutes to the Executive Office of the AARC within then (10) calendar days following their approval; executing the general correspondence; attesting the signature of the officers of the Society; affixing the corporate seal on documents so requiring; and performing all duties as shall be assigned by the President of the Board of Directors. This is a two-year term.

Treasurer – The Treasurer shall have charge of all funds and securities of the Society; endorsing checks, notes, or other orders for the payment of bills; disbursing of funds in accordance with the approved budget and/or as authorized by the Board of Directors; and depositing funds as the Board of Directors may designate. The Treasurer shall see that full and accurate accounts of revenue and expense are kept; make a written quarterly financial report to the Board of Directors, and prepare a complete written yearly report to be presented at a quarterly meeting of the Board of Directors; and shall perform such duties as shall be assigned by the President or the Board of Directors. At the expense of the Society, the Treasurer shall be bonded in an amount determined by the Board of Directors. This is a two-year term.

District Directors – Blue Ridge, Central, Northern, Tidewater, Western. They serve for two years, with the second year being the District Director and the elected year as co-District Director. They plan educational meetings and get togethers for their districts. These meetings and get togethers can be used for continuing education hours.
